Alphabet’s Google on Wednesday said it would allow Spotify to use its own payment system in its Android app as part of a new pilot aimed at countering appmakers’ concerns about high fees and allegedly anticompetitive behaviour. Cloud storage provider Box Inc unveiled a service that allows businesses in Europe and Asia to store data regionally, at a time when governments demand greater protection for their data in the backdrop of revelations about massive US surveillance programs.
