In what ways can funding for education be more intelligent? Creative financing via forward-thinking collaboration
Across the globe, the need for funding to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) greatly exceeds the available traditional aid and public funding. According to some projections, countries with lower income levels and rapid population growth are expected to see a reduction in government spending on education per person between now and 2030. The challenges affecting social sectors go beyond education: the global economy loses $3.3 trillion annually due to lost productivity from the learning crisis. This situation is exacerbated by growing social and economic disparities, increasing the demands on the education system. It is crucial to rethink how the education sector raises, organizes, and utilizes funding in collaboration with a wide array of stakeholders to guarantee that every child can access education.
