The AV Syndicate, launched by Alumni Ventures, gives investors the ability to choose individual venture deals
Manchester, NH, April 15, 2025 – Alumni Ventures (AV), one of the most active venture capital firms in the world, announced the launch of the AV Syndicate, a new investment platform that allows accredited investors to participate in individual venture deals. Access to venture capital opportunities, which have largely remained unavailable to many investors, is further democratized by this novel platform. “We’re thrilled to provide investors even greater flexibility and choice,” said Mike Collins, Founder and CEO of Alumni Ventures. “For over 10 years, we’ve offered investors a broad menu of venture fund options. Now with the AV Syndicate, investors can directly select deals from our carefully vetted opportunities, giving them the ability to create their own venture portfolio.”
Alumni Ventures is a pioneer in the venture ecosystem after more than a decade of expansion and innovation. The largest venture firm devoted to individual investors is AV, which has a current and historical portfolio of more than 1,600 businesses and has committed capital of $1.4 billion from more than 11,000 customers. In addition, AV has been ranked among the top 20 venture capitalists in North America by CB Insights as of December 31, 2024, and it has received top quartile and decile rankings in distributions to paid-in capital (DPI).
The AV Syndicate builds on Collins’ original vision to democratize access to venture capital. With only a $10,000 investment, it significantly lowers the entry barriers for new customers. Before making an investment decision, AV and its 40 venture investing professionals also make sure that AV investors have access to the company’s diligence materials and opportunities to discuss the deal in live discussions. “One week you might see a seed company that offers manufacturers AI-powered visual inspection,” Collins explains. The next might be a Series B company that’s developed a rapid test for sepsis, a leading cause of hospital deaths.”
“We’ve always believed in empowering investors,” Collins added. “The AV Syndicate is just the next step in fulfilling that promise,” the author says.
