Beautiful trench coats you’ll never regret buying

The best trench coats are classic investments that any woman should own, they are the ultimate trans-seasonal staple. This season, there is a style to suit all tastes, whether you’re into clean lines and neutral shades or stand-out voluminous, textured and colourful styles that are guaranteed to liven-up your wardrobe.

Styling-wise, the possibilities are endless, since they are one of the few items of clothing versatile enough to be worn with both casual and smart outfits. With jeans or oversizes suits, ankle boots or trainers – they just work with everything.

They’re one of those items that can take a lot of pavement pounding to find the right one, but once found, it’s something that you can wear season after season, and is well worth the investment.

If it’s something classic you’re after, go for a tan, cream or beige shade. For autumn/winter 21, I’m loving the playful textures seen at Bottega Venetta (the most perfect chocolate leather coat), STAUD (a great lilac vegan leather option), at KASSL Editions (a vanilla rubber number) and at MARQUES’ ALMEIDA (the denim coat of dreams).

Another showstopper comes in the for of Max Mara’s padded shell coat, which is just the right nod to 80s fashion. As we transition into the colder months, the pops of colours we’ve seen this summer turn into more subdued shades of khaki, cream, grey and burnt orange – that said, you can always trust Gucci to bring a bright pink option to the table.

Also new this season: the deconstructed trench, with unexpected details such as unhidden zips and patchwork sleeves. I’m especially into Burberry or Alexander McQueen for this.

Still not sold? Trench coats are well-known for being one of the most flattering styles of outerwear. By simply fastening the belt, anyone can have an hourglass silhouette.
