DU admissions: Apply online for PG, MPhil and PhD programmes from June 7
Online application process for postgraduate, MPhil and PhD programmes in Delhi University will now start from June 7. Applications for nine undergraduate courses that have an entrance test will also open on the same day.
Students were to be able to apply for these courses starting May 31. However, the process has been delayed because of the university’s decision to scrap online tests for PG, MPhil and PhD programmes.
“Earlier, we had decided to hold all the entrance tests online. But then it was decided that the entrance tests for post graduate, MPhil, and PhD programmes will be held only offline. So to prepare for the offline entrance tests, we had to push the date back,” said a DU official.
The entrance tests for the nine undergraduate programmes will, however, be held online.
These courses are: Bachelor of Management studies, Bachelor of business administration, BA (Hons) Business Economics, BA (Hons) Music, Bachelor of Mass Media and Mass Communication, BTech (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations), BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences, and BSc Physical Sciences and Sports Sciences, Bachelor in Elementary Education.
University sources also said that as the registration for courses has been delayed, the entrance exam dates may also get pushed back. “The dates have not been finalised yet,” they added.
Some students have welcomed the decision and said that they would get more time to prepare. “I would be happy if the entrance exams are also delayed as that gives me more time to study and prepare,” said Arohi Jain from St.Angel’s school.
