First Monday in May – Met Gala
This years host and Editor-in-chief of the US Vogue, Anna Wintour, decided on a very heavenly theme: “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. In addition, their co-hosts Rihanna, Donatella Versace and Amal Clooney performed through the evening of the fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Costume Institute. Since religions have always been a big part in fashion, a lot of items by well-known designers can be seen at the exhibition.
Among them were famous fashion designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano or Gianni Versace. Many guests followed Ms. Wintour’s sacred call that night. Their outfits were inspired by statues, the pope, church paintings and African saints. We picked out the most eye-catching robes and put them together in different categories.
Golden Hour
Gold is a chemical element with the symbol Au and is the transition metal in the Periodic Table, which is also known as the Group 11 element. For many years, the precious metal has been considered as one of the most valuable materials. It also stands for wealth and richness. That evening, stars like Kim Kardashian in Versace or Kerry Washington in Ralph Lauren, got an extra dose of golden glamor.
