Acne may put you at risk of major depression. Here’s what new research says

Acne is associated with increased risk of developing major depression in the first years after the condition appears, reveals a study. The analysis included data from The Health Improvement Network (THIN) (1986-2012), a large primary care database in the United Kingdom. The investigators found that the risk for major depression was highest within one year of acne diagnosis – a 63% higher risk compared with individuals without acne – and decreased thereafter. Samsung Electronics Co Ltd said on Wednesday it would create an artificial intelligence (AI) research centre and strengthen an executive role to look for new business areas for all its three major business groups. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) along with some of the leading healthcare bodies and other trusts has decided to adopt UN health agency’s recommendations to register and publicly disclose results of all clinical trials they fund or support.
